At the BBAG’s Boxendorf, not only did Wellem gain experience and get a taste of the racetrack atmosphere, but we also enjoyed interacting with experts, stud farm managers, and breeders large and small, taking away a wealth of experience, knowledge, and, above all, motivation.<\/p>\n

Because what connects us all is our fascination with horses.<\/p>\n

And the beauty of the thoroughbreds was concentrated in one place \u2013\u00a0 their special spirit could be felt everywhere.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, a high-caliber, interdisciplinary delegation of internationally active and highly successful horse professionals also enriched the auction proceedings: under the title \u201cMit Vollblut in die Zukunft\u201d (With thoroughbreds into the future) https:\/\/vollblut-zukunft.de\/<\/a>, information was shared and knowledge exchanged.<\/p>\n

And it was this very delegation that took an expert look at Wellem.<\/p>\n

They examined his gait, physique, and expression. But his interior was also praised. The delegation included:<\/p>\n

Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck, Chief Stable Master at Marbach State Stud.<\/p>\n

Frank Wei\u00dfkirchen, Chairman of the European Equestrian Business Association e.V. and owner of the Isselhook stud farm in Raesfeld<\/p>\n

Dr. Hans-Peter Karp, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Trakehner Association, member of the board of the Trakehner Horse Foundation and himself a breeder of champions.<\/p>\n

Thoroughbred expert and successful owner-trainer Ferdinand Leve, as well as Dr. Hilmer Meyer-Kulenkampff, whose thoroughbred horses are top athletes in eventing and brought Germany Olympic gold just last year, were also very favorably disposed toward Wellem.<\/p>\n

But trainers and agents from Serbia, Kazakhstan, Germany, and Ireland were also there to see Wellem.<\/p>\n

His conformation promises not only speed but also flexibility over distances.<\/p>\n

And his slightly convex head is the spitting image of his famous grandfather Sharmadal. Wellem bears an almost uncanny resemblance to his grandfather. The white rear left foot, the pale markings, and his overall appearance cannot deny this influence.<\/p>\n

The team at Hofgut Heymann (https:\/\/www.hofgut-heymann.de\/<\/a>), who not only prepared Wellem perfectly for this event, but also provide 60 hectares of meadows and pastures at an ideal altitude for optimal conditions for young athletes and were responsible for Wellem’s development from the age of 8 months, were delighted to present Wellem and were at least as proud as we were.<\/p>\n

But what these three days of horse viewing in the box village triggered was then expressed in the auction hall: Wellem caused a sensation and I myself got weak at the knees. People were willing to pay \u20ac80,000 for him \u2013 which almost put us in checkmate.<\/p>\n

During those precious days, the family had discussed the matter at length and ultimately made a commitment: no matter what happens, Wellem will race under our \u201cold\u201d colors and be placed in the capable and experienced hands of Henk Grewe. In addition to his conformation and pedigree, Grewe will also appreciate Wellem’s strong nerves, ambition, and intelligence \u2013 we are sure of that!<\/p>\n

We are now keeping our fingers crossed that Wellem stays healthy and continues to cause a sensation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
