The yearling Wellem has moved to Henk Grewe’s stables in Cologne as planned. This marks the beginning of the next crucial phase: developing his potential in a targeted manner and training him gently but consistently.
And the start could hardly have gone better. Wellem moved into his box, was visibly impressed by the large window and went into the horse walker with his saddle on the very next morning. Shortly afterwards, he was ridden for the first time – calm, focused and completely confident. Exactly as one would expect from him and his class.
In addition to his impressive exterior, Wellem continues to impress with his exceptionally calm interior. This inner calm, coupled with quality and presence, makes him a horse with a special charisma.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that he stays healthy, is managed carefully and can develop his talent to the full – with the aim of making it big one day. He has the potential to do so, not least because of his famous grandfather Shamardal, whom he resembles remarkably in type and appearance.
